Ido the same thing when I think about Chase. He's only seven, but I can't imagine my life without him.

62 yr old cry-at-the-drop-of-a-hat person here. Too sad, too joyful, too sublime, and here come the waterworks. I watch 'Casablanca' (repeatedly - at least once a month) and stock my spot on the sofa with a whole kitchen towel 'cause I know yet again I'm gonna bawl my eyes out at multiple scenes. I pet my 17-yr-old cat and find my eyes welling up at the thought 'how much more time do I have with him?'.

Heck, I can be telling my husband some anecdote about The Beatles and suddenly find myself choking up at the tale myself.

It's not melodrama nor pathos; it's just some folk feel life and its moments more deeply. Let others roll their eyes; people like us keep the world emotionally going. It's the others' loss if they sleepwalk through life - we'll happily (or sorrowfully - or whatever the case, intensely) keep the Kleenex manufacturers in business.

I've been told that I laugh too much/too loudly; I cry to easily and unnecessarily; I get angry to readily, at things that don't concern me (other people's suffering/abuse, etc...

In the past I tried to bottle it up, keep it tamped down inside. Stress, anxiety and depression nearly ended me.

I eventually got help. The therapist that I saw for awhile convinced me to stop, that I was hurting myself emotionally by trying to conform to other peoples' ideas of 'normal'.

I'm so much happier now. I'm eating and sleeping better. My emotions aren't as extreme any more.

We are emotional beings. Locking all of that up is not healthy. It's especially destructive for people who things more intensely to do so.

Had a lot of affirmation to the inner knowing on this that is most needed. So good to have a reminder to it, and the way it was stated was great 🏆

This is who I am now.

I refuse to be a robot any longer.

Some will like me more for it, some will like me less.

So be it.
